Dr Maria Pournara is a Chartered Psychologist in London with over 10 years of clinical experience. Dr Maria Pournara is currently offering private online psychological therapy and counselling in the UK and internationally. Dr Maria Pournara is passionate about offering a high standard psychological service to individuals and couples informed by an evidenced-based and compassionate approach.

Dr Maria Pournara has been trained in the NHS and has extensive experience working with a range of psychological and behavioural issues varying from mild to moderate difficulties to complex mental health conditions. Dr Maria Pournara, initially studied Applied Psychology, in her country-of-origin Greece, where she discovered her passion about applied psychological therapy and counselling. After completing her Bachelor of Science, she trained as a psychotherapist in the University of Edinburgh. Shortly after completing her psychotherapy studies, she began her Professional Doctorate studies in Counselling Psychology in University of Roehampton in London. Throughout her training, she worked in primary and secondary services both in the NHS and third sector services, such Mind one of the leading Mental Health Charities in the UK. Dr Pournara acquired specialist clinical skills in offering mental health assessments, individual therapy, therapeutic groups, and mental health workshops for staff. Dr Pournara also participated in coordinating service provision and in the delivery of high-quality standard of care. Finally, she has taken specialist training in couple therapy and has been offering therapy and counselling to couples.
